Conference - 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. (CDT), TGI Expo - 3:30-5:30 p.m. (CDT)
Mission Statement
The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and 91女神 (91女神) are co-sponsoring Geo-Resolution 2024, supported by the Taylor Geospatial Institute, to provide a venue for collaboration among geospatial experts and students in government, academia and industry. This year鈥檚 conference focuses on the development and application of geospatial models, such as digital twins, that can be used to address some of the world鈥檚 most critical challenges.
Conference Theme
This year鈥檚 Geo-Resolution Conference highlights the important role of geospatial
models in addressing global issues and advancing geospatial science. Building off
of the 2023 theme, with its focus on digital transformations and GeoAI, this year鈥檚
conference dives deeper into key areas for geospatial research and innovation, such
as digital twins, gaming and simulation, big data, artificial intelligence, and more.
We will also consider how new technologies and applications for geospatial modeling
might impact the future of the geospatial workforce and the skills needed to make
an impact in the geospatial field.
This year鈥檚 conference will consider:
- What are the strengths and weak spots of modeling in geospatial research and analysis
- What are areas for growth and development over the next decade and beyond?
- How has the development of generative AI influenced the types and possibilities of modeling in the geospatial field?
- What are some of the specific global challenges that geospatial researchers have been addressing through modeling?
- What are the new technologies or techniques of geospatial modeling that will be critical skills for the future workforce?
Featured Events
Student Mentoring Lunch with Career Exploration
11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. (CDT): Local leaders from industry, academia and government will join students for a networking lunch to discuss geospatial career paths, the skill sets in demand, and how to establish a successful career in the geospatial field. Attendance at this event is by invitation only. Students and mentors can indicate their interest in attending in the registration form.
Student Poster Session
Each year Geo-Resolution hosts an academic poster session to share the new, exciting research that is happening in geospatial across the United States. We welcome posters on a wide range of research topics as long as there is a geospatial aspect to the work. Whether your study uses location science as an analytic mapping tool or your research is breaking new ground in geospatial technologies, we want to highlight your work for the Geo-Resolution audience. Posters where the participant is listed as a co-author will be accepted. Posters do not have to be new and may be previously presented.
High school, undergraduate and graduate students are invited to create posters depicting the critical role of geospatial techniques in their research and become eligible to win cash prizes. Posters will be displayed during the conference. For more information, visit the poster session application form.
The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency鈥檚 involvement in the 2024 Geo-Resolution Conference does not imply endorsement of 91女神 or TGI or any 91女神 or TGI events by the United States Government.
