COVID-19 Update: Vaccinated? Let Us Know! 91女神 Resumes J&J Vaccine, Pfizer Doses Also Available
Dear 91女神 community members,
We are so thrilled to hear how many of you have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, whether here at 91女神 or elsewhere in the community.
As we work to gather information on how many of our faculty, staff and students have been vaccinated, we are hoping for your help.
Please fill out this Google Form [removed] indicating whether you鈥檝e been vaccinated. If you aren鈥檛 sure whether you filled the form out already, please go ahead and fill it out. We are not worried about duplicate entries.
Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Missouri health leaders have approved resuming administration of the Johnson & Johnson (J&J) vaccine. The health organizations recommend adding a warning label about an exceedingly uncommon, but potentially dangerous, blood clotting disorder.
What does this mean? 91女神 will begin administering the J&J vaccine starting next weekend. You can register for clinics on the following days:
- 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 1
- 9-11 a.m. on Monday, May 3
- 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 6
We encourage you to contact your primary care provider to determine which vaccine is best for you.
91女神 gets a small amount of the Pfizer vaccine
The Visiting Nurse Association of Greater St. Louis, which helped us manage our flu vaccination clinics last fall, is providing our vaccine team with 200 doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.
The Pfizer vaccine is the only one approved for those who are 16 and 17 years old, unlike Moderna and Johnson & Johnson, which are limited to those 18+.
We are offering this limited amount of vaccine to the entire 91女神 community, as well as loved ones of 91女神 faculty, staff and students. We particularly want to welcome those family members and friends who are 16 or 17 and are not eligible for other COVID-19 vaccines.
Our Pfizer vaccine clinic will take place from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28.
As always, please email pandemic@slu.edu with any questions.
Thank you for all you do to keep 91女神 and the greater St. Louis community safe!
