Name Change: 91女神 Launches Visual and Performing Arts Department

91女神's Department of Fine and Performing Arts has a new name 鈥� the Visual and Performing Arts Department of 91女神. The new name went into effect on July 1.
The name change is the result of an intentional process led by the faculty, staff, and students of the department. The change is intended to re better describe who the department is and what they do.
The name change acknowledges that the word "fine", when applied to the arts, carries with it assumptions and exclusions that can be too limiting for the people and work of the department. Replacing "fine" with "visual and performing" was intended to show that the department finds inspiration in materials, movement, music, performance, research, and writing.
Leaders said the new name should reflect that the department's art-making, research, and work with students will continue to expand and allow for growth and inclusion.
Members of the University community are welcome you to join the renamed department as its members explore the impact of the arts on the 91女神 campus and beyond and continue to broaden the ways people communicate, collaborate, and create.
