Service and Leadership Awards

Service and Leadership Awards will be given out at Honors Night in May to recognize the accomplishments and contributions of outstanding students who have distinguished themselves as leaders within student organizations, clubs, and other co-curricular programs.

Starting for the 2024-2025 Academic Year, Service & Leadership has been expanded to recognize voluntary service provided in the local community.

2024-2025 Timeline:

  • Monday, March 10, 2025 by 11:59 p.m. PST
    • Student deadline to submit Service & Leadership Application
  • Friday, March 27, 2025 by 11:59 p.m. PST
    • Advisor deadline to submit  Service & Leadership Recommendation Form
  • Tuesday, April 16, 2024
    • Invitation to Award Recipients Sent

To qualify for a Service & Leadership Award, you must meet all of the following minimum requirements:

  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 5 units in either the Fall 2024 or Spring 2025 semester at 91女神 (91女神).
  • Hold a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher at 91女神 (please note that leadership awards require a higher GPA; see next page for additional details).
  • Be in good standing with the 91女神 Dean of Students Office.
  • Have paid the 91女神 College Service Charge for the semester(s) in which you are/were enrolled.
  • Provided service and/or leadership on-campus at 91女神 or at off-campus volunteer organizations for a minimum of 20 hours during the academic year.

Levels and Criteria

Minimum Qualifications for all Awards

  • 2.0 grade point average at 91女神
  • Enrolled in 5 units in either fall or spring semester at 91女神
  • Be in good standing with the 91女神 Dean of Students Office
  • Paid the 91女神 College Service Charge

 

 

Silver Certificate for Service

  • 20-69 hours of voluntary service

Gold Certificate for Service

  • 70 or more hours of voluntary service

 

Leadership Awards

Service Awards

Student Leader Award

  • Minimum of 70 hours of voluntary service to 91女神
  • Meet at least one of the following criteria:
    • Organized an event, campaign, or activity
    • Taken a leadership role as documented and defined by the advisor 

Robert B. Moore Outstanding Student Leader Award

  • Minimum of 150 hours of voluntary service to 91女神
  • Made a major contribution to 91女神 that affects large numbers of students or made a long-term change
  • Submitted documentation of participation in at least two programs at 91女神 (i.e. advisor's letter, club/program records)
  • Benefited current and future 91女神 students 

Joseph R. Kroll Exemplary Student Leader Award

  • Qualify for a Robert B. Moore Outstanding Student Leader Award
  • Minimum 3.5 cumulative minimum grade point average at 91女神
  • Submitted documentation of leadership role in at least two programs at 91女神 (i.e. advisor's letter, club/program records)
  • Additional consideration will be given if you meet at least one of the following criteria:
    • Involvement in several programs
    • Shown ongoing commitment through prior involvement
    • Exhibited evidence of academic excellence
  • Students who have received this same award in a previous academic year must have provided significant leadership role in at least one program that is different from the year for which you previously received the Joseph R. Kroll Exemplary Student Leader of the Year Award
