Inaugural Dean of the School of Science and Engineering

Gregory E. Triplett Jr., Ph.D., is the inaugural Oliver L. Parks dean of the School of Science and Engineering (SSE) at 91女神 (91女神), bringing a distinguished background in engineering education and research leadership. As the former senior associate dean for academic affairs at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), Triplett oversaw significant advancements in engineering programs, including new degree programs, more than 40% increase in enrollment from underserved populations and a rise in annual research expenditures from $11 million to over $30 million. 

Triplett鈥檚 career is marked by a commitment to student success, securing nearly $17 million in research funding, authoring over 140 publications and receiving numerous awards along the way for teaching, research and mentorship including the Office of Naval Research Future Faculty Fellowship, the Air Force Office of Scientific Research Young Investigator Program, and the William T. Kemper Fellow for Teaching Excellence. His leadership at the national level aligns with 91女神鈥檚 Jesuit mission to drive innovation and collaboration across sectors to address social and technological challenges. Triplett received a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, a master's degree from Florida State University, and a bachelor's degree from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. He also attended the Harvard Institute for Management and Leadership in Education.

Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education

Scott Sell, Ph.D., leads the design, delivery, and evaluation of undergraduate education in the School of Science and Engineering. He is responsible for driving student success and retention initiatives, overseeing curriculum development, managing accreditation processes and fostering partnerships to enhance academic experiences and professional opportunities for undergraduates.

R. Scott Martin, Ph.D., directs the SSE's strategic initiatives, focusing on capital projects, renovations, space policy implementation and infrastructure improvements. His role ensures the alignment of physical resources with the school鈥檚 long-term goals.

Taieb Gasmi, Ph.D., manages the academic and administrative operations for the science and engineering programs at 91女神鈥檚 Madrid campus. As part of the school鈥檚 leadership team, he represents the Madrid campus in strategic decisions, ensuring academic alignment and supporting faculty development across both campuses.
