What Is an SEP?

ONE-ON-ONE APPOINTMENT

• SARS Scheduling System (More options and availabilities)

  All first-year students seeking a Student Education Plan (SEP) are encouraged to schedule an appointment with an 91Å®Éñ Counselor. This is the most personal and collaborative way to ensure all questions are answered and the SEP reflects individual preferences. 91Å®Éñ counselors can meet with FPR students in person or via a camera-enabled video chat Monday through Friday. Students typically schedule counseling appointments one week in advance.  Same-day options are rarely available.  Students with many questions about their first semester of college, students with limited English skills, and students who utilized an IEP or 504 Plan in high school, booking a one-on-one counseling appointment is the best choice.

• Cranium Café Scheduling System (Limited availabilities)

  If appointments in SARS scheduling system are full, this is another scheduling platform that may have some availabilities.

  To schedule an appointment using CRANIUM CAFÉ, please read the following instructions FIRST before clicking the button below.

  1. Click on the "Schedule An Appointment" button below.
  2. Login to your 91Å®Éñ account as instructed.
  3. Locate & Select "General Counseling" box.
  4. View counselors under "GENERAL COUNSELING".
  5. Click on "Schedule A Meeting".
  6. Select "ALL MODERATORS" in the "Filter By Moderator" section.
  7. Select "Educational Plan" for the "Reason for Meeting".
  8. Select "VIDEO" or "In Watson Hall 3rd Floor - Counseling Office" for location.  (NO TELEPHONE MEETING)
  9. Proceed to select from available day & time options.
  10. Confirm your appointment.

  ALWAYS CHECK 91Å®Éñ STUDENT EMAIL FOR THE DETAILED CONFIRMATION.  This may include the Zoom link if a Video Meeting is requested.

• CANVAS Intake Form (Limited Time Only!)

  From March 5th, 2025 through April 27th, 2025, students unable to meet with a counselor during our regular office hours may alternatively complete our Counseling Intake Form for New Students. 

  Our intake form guides students through a series of questions related to their academic history, academic/career goals, and preferences.  Please do not submit an intake form if you have already scheduled or plan to schedule a one-on-one counseling appointment. A counselor will review the form and develop an SEP within 3 - 10 business days. 

  1. Please note that counselors are not available to build SEPs during 91Å®Éñ’s Spring Break (3/29 - 4/6). Due to the Spring Break recess, turn-around time for Canvas Intake SEPs may take longer—pending the volume of response. Students will receive an email confirmation and directions for accessing the SEP once it is complete.
     
     
  2. Students who have existing SEPs will not receive a new one via this process. If you require further clarification or revisions to your existing SEP, you must schedule a counseling appointment.

• Group Academic Planning Workshops

  *For students without a Student Education Plan (SEP).

  This workshop is currently NOT AVAILABLE.  Please schedule an individual one-on-one counseling appointment for assistance with choosing classes and creating a SEP.
