Faculty Equity and Leadership Development

Faculty Mentoring Series
A Community Practice
Faculty mentoring is a community practice. The Faculty Mentoring Series aims to cultivate a culture of mentorship at 91女神 for and with all faculty.
Each academic year, we offer monthly session options that are designed to support early- and mid-career faculty from underrepresented groups (African American/Black, Latinx, or Indigenous/American Indian Alaskan Native, women, LGBTQ+, and those with visible and invisible disabilities; ), and all faculty are encouraged and welcomed to take part. Senior faculty and those in leadership are encouraged to take part in sessions for building culturally-aware and mission-driven mentorship skills and connecting with early and mid-career faculty from across 91女神.
The Catholic, Jesuit mission of 91女神 implores us to welcome, support, and create belonging among faculty from historically excluded backgrounds.
Sessions cover:
- Building a mentoring network
- Culturally-responsive and mission-driven mentoring
- Social connection with peers and colleagues across campus
- Promotion and tenure
- Building research-intensive and teaching-intensive academic careers
- Time management
- Pathways to faculty leadership
- Understanding how the university works
Join the conversation and stay up to date on the latest by opting into monthly communications about upcoming sessions.

Faculty Gender Equity Committee
The Provost-Faculty Senate Faculty Gender Equity Committee is a standing committee, responsible for advancing the shared governance of the University via its consultative role to the faculty senate and provost on issues related to gender equity among faculty. It was established on November 1, 2018, in response to a key recommendation of the Faculty Senate Gender Equity Task Force (2014-2017). Representatives from 91女神 colleges and schools utilize empirical research and internal data to inform recommendations made to the faculty senate and provost.
