Saint Louis Gateway Scholars Network

The Saint Louis Gateway Scholars Network is a collaborative endeavor with area colleges and universities. The network aims to provide regional supports to college and university faculty.

Supports are designed to promote the retention and thriving of faculty from underrepresented, disadvantaged and minoritized groups, including Black/African American, Hispanic/Latine, Indigenous/Native peoples, women, LGBTQ+ and those with disabilities. All faculty are welcome to join the network.

Defining Our Purpose Through Five Goals

The Saint Louis Gateway Scholars Network aims to meet five main goals:   

  1. Create a sense of community and belonging among faculty and post-doctoral fellows from underrepresented, disadvantaged and minoritized backgrounds in the St. Louis region.
  2. Support the recruitment and retention of diverse academic talent in the region.
  3. Elevate the scholarship of faculty and post-doctoral fellows from underrepresented, disadvantaged and minoritized backgrounds.
  4. Foster interdisciplinary research collaborations and mentorship networks across institutions and between diverse scholars.
  5. Encourage social relationships to enhance the positive experience of living and working in St. Louis.
